Welcome to Alphabet & Numbers: Kids ABC (referred to as the "App"), an interactive educational application designed for young learners, developed by AP Software ("we", "us", or "our").

We take your child’s privacy and your family’s data security extremely seriously. This Privacy Policy outlines our strict commitment to child safety and data transparency.

Our application is built under strict compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

1. 👶 Strict Child Safety & Family-First Guarantee

  • Zero Advertisements: The App contains 100% NO third-party advertisements or programmatic banners, completely eliminating the risk of showing inappropriate content to young children.
  • No Personal Data Collection: We do NOT request, collect, store, transmit, or share any personal identifying information (PII) from children, such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, locations, or device identifiers.
  • No Registration Required: Children and parents can use all educational features, games, and tracing tools immediately without creating an account or signing up.

2. 🗄️ Offline-First & Local Storage (Room Database)

To ensure maximum safety and performance, the App is designed to operate primarily offline:

  • Local Learning Logs: All progress logs, accuracy metrics, and matching/counting game high scores are stored strictly locally on the user’s device using an encrypted local SQLite/Room database.
  • No Server Sync: This progress data is never uploaded to any remote server or shared with any third party. Parents can clear or reset all stored logs and score history at any time from the secure, parental-gate protected Parent Portal.

3. 🗣️ Speech Synthesis & Optional Network Calls

The App features an interactive "motherly voice" to guide toddlers through their learning journey. It handles speech synthesis in two modes:

  1. Standard Mode (100% Offline): Utilizes the Android device's built-in, native Text-To-Speech (TTS) engine. This mode is entirely local and requires no internet access.
  2. Optional Premium Mode (Online Google Cloud TTS): Parents can manually toggle "Google Cloud TTS" inside the Settings Screen to stream hyper-realistic, warm vocalisations.
    • Data Handling: When this feature is active, only the text to be spoken (e.g., "Apple", "1, 2, 3") is processed via secure HTTPS API requests to the official Google Cloud TTS endpoints.
    • No Retention: No voice recordings, device profiles, or user identifications are processed, transmitted, or retained.

4. 🚷 Secure Parental Gate Protection

To prevent accidental exit, unwanted settings changes, or access to parental options, critical configuration panels (like language downloads, clear logs, and cloud TTS toggles) are secured with an interactive Parental Gate (requiring parents to solve a math/logic equation or security pattern). This ensures that young children remain safely inside the educational viewport.

5. 📜 Regulatory Compliance & COPPA Compliance

As a child-focused application, we are proud to declare full compliance with global standards:

  • COPPA Compliance: We do not collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
  • GDPR Kids Compliance: We do not process personal data of EU residents. All local operational data remains under the absolute control of the parents.
  • CCPA/CPRA Compliance: We do not sell, trade, or monetize any user data.
