AP Software ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Expenses Tracker mobile application (the "App") for Android devices.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, disclosure, and safeguarding of your information when you use our App.

By installing and using Expenses Tracker, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

1. Executive Summary (100% Offline & Local Data)

  • Offline First: Expenses Tracker is designed as a fully offline, local-first application.
  • No Server Storage: All financial transactions, account balances, category lists, and budgets are stored exclusively on your own physical device.
  • No Account Creation: You do not need to register, create an account, or log in to use the App. We do not collect or hold your email, name, or phone number.
  • No Third-Party Sharing: Since we do not collect your personal or financial data on any server, we cannot and do not share, sell, or rent your information to third parties.

2. Information Collection and Use

A. Personal Data

We do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, physical address, or phone number. You use the application anonymously.

B. Financial Data

All transaction records, account names, daily/monthly expenses, budget targets, and payment methods are input manually by you.

  • This data is saved directly in a local database (Android Room SQLite database) on your device's secure private sandbox storage.
  • This financial information never leaves your device and is not accessible by AP Software or any remote server.

C. Device Permissions

The App may request the following device permissions to support core offline features:

  • Storage / Document Access (Read/Write): Used solely when you manually initiate a Backup & Restore operation to save or load your JSON backup files.
  • Biometric / Device Lock (optional): Used to authorize the secure App Lock feature. All biometric authentication is handled locally by the Android operating system; we do not have access to your biometric prints or passcode keys.

3. Data Portability, Backup, and Deletion

  • Data Ownership: You own 100% of your data.
  • Local Backups: You can generate a full data export (in standard JSON format) at any time. This file is stored locally on your device or in a destination of your choosing.
  • Import / Restore: The import process is executed entirely locally on your device. The App parses the selected JSON file or pasted text directly into your local database. No data is transmitted to the cloud during this process.
  • Data Deletion: You can delete all your data permanently at any time by:
    1. Using the "Reset App Data" option within the App settings.
    2. Clearing the App's storage/cache via your Android device Settings.
    3. Uninstalling the App. Once uninstalled, all local database files are permanently deleted by the Android OS and cannot be recovered.

4. Third-Party Services

The App does not use any third-party tracking, analytics (such as Google Analytics or Firebase Analytics), or advertising SDKs.

5. Security of Your Data

The security of your financial information is extremely important to us. Because your data is stored entirely on your device, its security depends on:

  • The physical security of your Android device.
  • Your use of device-level encryption, PINs, passwords, or biometrics.
  • Your use of the App's built-in secure App Lock.

Please be careful when sharing or exporting your JSON backup files, as they contain plain-text records of your financial entries.

6. Children's Privacy

Our App is safe for use by individuals of all ages. Because we do not collect any personal data, we do not knowingly collect, store, or process any information from children under the age of 13.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect improvements or changes to the App. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
